How we help

Everest needed a system which could provide comprehensive and personalized legal documents to customers at high volume. Epoq were able to assist by providing an 'off the shelf' solution which provided all the necessary components; the document automation technology, the US and Canadian legal content and the supporting technology platform and API necessary for seamless integration. The inclusion of the Epoq service to the Everest total solution final expense product helped to support 50% year over year growth in whole life policies sold by the retail agent force working with Everest in 2016.

LTCR

Background

Epoq is working with Colonial Life to support their brokers in various ways with our hi-tech legal service, LawAssure. The service is providing brokers and agents with a 'door opener' to persuade employees to attend enrolment meetings. Background

Admiral Insurance (part of the EUI Group Ltd) is one of the largest and most recognised insurance brands in the UK. They specialise in providing car, motor and van insurance at highly competitive premiums.

How we help

Admiral's motor insurance customers can access Epoq's legal services via a white- labelled website delivered by Composite Legal Expenses. Epoq provides a range of legal document templates relevant to Admiral motor insurance policyholders, enabling them to resolve issues such as challenging a parking fine or complaining about poor quality work and/or service.

Allianz

Background

Allianz Legal Protection (ALP) is the company within the Allianz Group that specialises in legal expenses insurance for both consumers and businesses. ALP recognised that it could significantly improve the value of their product by providing its policyholders with the tools they need to deal with legal matters.

How we help

Epoq provides ALP with a white-labelled legal service that includes an online law guide and document preparation service which ALP makes available to its policyholders. The legal service is of genuine use to policyholders and has added significantly to the strength of ALP's customer proposition. In addition, by empowering their policyholders to better protect themselves against legal disputes, ALP is helping to manage its insured risk.

ARAG

Background

ARAG is one of the largest family owned providers of legal insurance in the UK. It was one of the first commercial legal expenses insurers to transform its insurance product into a service-led proposition. Key to that was providing their policyholders with access to Epoq's legal services.

How we help

Initially, ARAG offered its policyholders Epoq's business law services only, but later extended its legal offering to include personal lines and landlord customers. Accessible from a dedicated website, the legal service includes an extensive range of legal document templates to help business owners, individuals and landlords deal with many everyday legal matters. The addition of Epoq's legal services to ARAG's legal expenses products has enabled it to significantly improve renewal rates. In fact, 70 - 80% of customers say they are more likely to renew an ARAG policy because it gives access to on line legal documents.

Arc Legal Assistance

Background

Arc Legal Assistance is a specialist provider of legal expenses insurance and related services, covering family, motor, commercial, travel and property owners. Arc's clients include insurers, intermediaries, financial institutions and affinity groups.

How we help

Epoq provides Arc Legal Assistance with a range of online legal document services accessible via a dedicated website, Law Assistance. The service is included with appropriate Arc products to create services that are more powerful than simple insurance products. AXA Assistance

DAS

Background

Since its formation in 1975, DAS has become firmly established within the legal expenses insurance market and has become one of the UK's leading non-life insurers. It provides legal protection for families, motorists, landlords and businesses.

How we help

Epoq provides two white-labelled legal information and document preparation websites for DAS; DAS Householdlaw and DAS Businesslaw. These websites enable DAS policyholders to learn about their legal rights and obligations, as well as to easily prepare a range of important legal documents. Epoq's legal services have enabled DAS to become more than just a legal expenses insurance provider and have been instrumental in helping DAS to build strong relationships with its customers.

Direct Line

Background

Direct Line is one of the largest insurers in the UK. Their Direct Line for Business division offers a number of different insurance policies to small businesses and landlords. They approached Epoq to provide a web-based legal documents service that would add value to their policies and could be offered to policyholders at no extra cost.

Epoq developed a bespoke system for Golden Charter to enable it to improve the speed, efficiency and quality of its Will-writing service. Using a combination of Epoq's Rapidocs® legal document technology, workflow systems and API, Epoq created a system that allows Golden Charter's Will-writing team to draft and process customer Wills more quickly and effectively than ever before. This has resulted in both improved operational productivity and greater customer satisfaction.

LawOnline

Background

LawOnline was a start-up organisation looking to develop an online legal service website for consumers, businesses, and solicitors in the Republic of Ireland.

How we help

Using Epoq's Rapidocs technology platform, LawOnline was able to develop bespoke legal document content for the Irish Republic. This is hosted on a site operated by Epoq that interfaces seamlessly with a dedicated LawOnline.ie front-end site. Documents may be purchased by consumers or businesses, before being sent for review by LawOnline's partner law-firm. This workflow is facilitated by Epoq's back-end CRM system (ELCCS).

MORE TH>N

Background

MORE TH>N was launched in June 2001 bringing freshness and a new approach to the consumer financial services market and offers insurance products covering home, motor, travel, landlord and life. MORE TH>N Home insurance has achieved the highest 5 star rating available from independent financial research organisation, Defaqto.

How we help

Epoq created and maintains the MORE TH>N Legal Services website which provides eligible policyholders with access to an online law guide and document preparation facilities. Policyholders can deal with an extensive range of legal matters, from a minor dispute with a retailer or noisy neighbour, to complex matters such as getting divorced. The service provides excellent value-for-money for policyholders as it empowers them to deal with matters that would cost hundreds of pounds if they went to a solicitor. For MORE TH>N, the service is a great differentiator that provides a powerful customer acquisition and retention tool.

MSL

Background

MSL Legal Expenses provides a range of tailored legal expenses insurance products for motor, home, landlord and commercial. The company's products are predominantly sold through insurance brokers and saw the adoption of Epoq's services as a way to provide more value to end customers.

How we help

Epoq has designed a small number of schemes to complement some of MSL's LEI products. These are delivered using Epoq's shared legal services delivery platform, Law Assistance, but with MSL branding applied to reinforce the message that it is MSL providing the additional value.

NatWest

Background

A leading UK retail bank servicing both individuals and businesses, NatWest was looking for ways to enhance the service it offered its small business customers to give them greater value, as well as create a new revenue stream for the bank.

How we help

Epoq created the NatWest RiskRemedy web service, which enables small business customers to deal with a myriad of legal issues. Now in its second generation, the service has been extended to cover a broad range of debt, property and commercial matters, building on the employment and health & safety content that formed the core of the original product. Background

Slater & Gordon is one of the UK's largest law firms with 1,450 staff and 18 offices in England, Scotland & Wales. In 2012, it acquired the law firm, Russell, Jones & Walker (RJW), a long-standing client of Epoq.

Following Slater & Gordon's acquisition of RJW, Epoq continues to provide the firm with a dedicated online legal service which gives clients easy access to a range of legal documents relating to several areas of law including property, family and Wills, which they can purchase and draft online by completing a simple questionnaire at a time and place that suits them.

Saga is a well-recognised, classic British brand, providing products and services tailored for people aged 50 and over. Stephensons Solicitors LLP is a UK top 100 law firm based in the North West. The practice has 28 Partners and over 300 staff across 5 North West locations and practice law across a board range of legal areas, including company commercial, employment, personal Injury, conveyancing and wills and probate.

Epoq provide Stephensons Wills department with an in-house document drafting solution, Rapidocs LawDraft. Since the introduction of Rapidocs LawDraft, Stephensons' Wills department have found that on average the time to take instructions and create a first draft Will has been halved. The system has significantly improved the efficiency of the process and means that clients are mostly required to attend for only one face-to-face meeting for a Will to be drafted.

Thomson Reuters' UK legal publishing division, Sweet & Maxwell, is responsible for publishing the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) documents, which are standard design and building forms widely used by the construction industry. It has utilised Epoq's Rapidocs® platform to power the digital edition of this service for over 10 years. Epoq undertook the development of a JCT-specific version of Rapidocs® dedicated to facilitating the deployment of these forms on subscribers' PCs. This involved building a whole new feature set, including the need to meter the usage of the forms (using Print Credits), as well as allowing automatic updates when new contracts are published.

Unum

Background

Unum is a market leader in disability, group life, long term care and voluntary benefits. Through an arrangement with Ceridian, Unum introduced Unum LifeWorks, an enhancement to their Group Income Protection scheme to provide a range of employee benefits for both employees and their immediate family.

Which Wills

Background

Which? exists to make people as powerful as the organisations that affect their lives. Its legal service includes legal advice lines covering a range of consumer issues such as employment, motoring, goods and services and family matters. It also includes a dedicated Will-writing service, Which? Wills.

How we help

Which? Wills wanted to improve the ease and convenience of its Wills service, so approached Epoq to create a dedicated website which would allow Which? customers to create Wills without having to visit a high street solicitor. The service Epoq provides offers a low cost, fixed fee service as part of their easy-to-use website, which guides users through all of the potential complications and pitfalls of making a will in simple and clear language.
